It makes the heart indifferent to both worlds , strange is the joy of intimacy with God. Losing interest in the material world due to divine love.
Iqbal expresses his extreme love for Hussain, the hero of Karbala. Just as Almighty God loves to listen to the invocation of the orphans, he also has the same kind of love for the hero of Karbala
The philosophy of Karbala has given the highest respect, deepest love for the Prophet Mohammad(saw), Hazrat Ali (As), Hazrat Fatima (SA), Hazrat Hassan(AS) and Hussain(AS). The hero of Karbala whose life, character, dedication and sacrifice impresses the followers to the utmost. One who sincerely believes in the philosophy of Karbala bows down before nobody. This is what the Holy Prophet(SAW) and his Ahle Bait have taught the believers.
According to Alama Iqbal(RA)
Mommin az ishq ast wa ishq az mommin ast,
Ishq ra naa momkin-e-maa momkin ast
One who believes God submits before Him and none except Him. This sacred power of love makes possible what we consider impossible.
A true believer of Karbala conquers the universe and causes miracles to happen.
Doctor Iqbal says that ever since the creation of life two opposing forces have been at war with each other virtue and vice, right and wrong. Moses fought against Pharaoh and Hussain fought against Yazeed. These battles were between the right and the wrong. The right made a lasting mark of it's success on our minds.
Doctor Iqbal says that Hussain voluntarily gave his life at Karbala for the sake of truth. Since islamic principles were being twisted and diluted it was Hussain's blood which gave it a new life.
Karbala is even relevant today a famous phrase "every day is a Karbala and every night Aashoora ".
The single most important message of Karbala is to fight for truth and justice. Imam Hussain could easily save himself only by pledging to the falsehood of Yazeed. He could have lived a luxurious life. But then the Islam that we see today could have been diluted to the unimaginable extent. Imam Hussain was aware that his resistance to the tyrant would result in his murder .
The essence of the tale of Karbala is the sacrifice. The seventy two companions of Imam Hussain knew they were surrounded by a huge number of tyrants , they were outnumbered but yet they resisted and laid their sacrifices.
Iqbal has beautifully put it as
Allah Allah Bai Bismillah pider,
Ke man ye zabhe azeem aamad pisar.
The father, Ali (AS) , is the meaning of Bismillah and Hussain (AS) the meaning of supreme sacrifice.
The fight of good against evil is another lesson learnt from Karbala.
Those who understand Karbala never fear death . They entangle death for the sake of humanity upholding the flag of good against evil, resistance against surrender and empathy against cruelty .
Iqbal says
"Do Aalam sai karti hai begana dil ko,
Ajab cheez hai Lazzat-e-ashnai,
Shahadat hai matloob o maqsood -e - mommin,
Na Mal-e-ganeemat na kishor kushai".
It makes the heart indifferent to both worlds , strange is the joy of intimacy with God. Losing interest in the material world due to divine love.

Jis tarah mujhko shaheed-e-karbala se piyaar hai,
Haq taala ko yateemon ki doa se piyaar hai.
In the contemporary world we can see how some resist and rise against tyrants irrespective of the power game. They stand firm against world powers. Challenging the invincible. They follow Karbala and fear none. This is the lesson learnt from Karbala.
America with full might attacked Iran, the followers of Karbala. The Iranians with the philosophy of Karbala are laying sacrifices without bowing down. The leaders following the path of Hussain stand firm against the tyrants. They uphold the essence and spirit of Karbala. They celebrate the martyrdom and are upholding the practicability of justice.
Alama Iqbal looks down upon the life of a monk living in a monastery. We should not leave the qualities of courage and forbearance. He puts it as
Nikal kar khanqaohon sey adaa kar rasm-e-shabbiri,
Ki faqr-e-khanqahi hai faqat andoh-o-dilgeeri.
Karbala teaches action , resistance and sublime attitude. In our day to day life Karbala gives the lesson of standing against corruption and oppression. If you stand against the cruelty and corruption, stand like Hussain(AS) without bogging down to the pressure and the outcome. The scuffle between the truth and falsehood shall remain but this folly will encounter the followers of Hussain (AS) . Hussain with family fought the oppression even though the oppressor Yazeed was very powerful with thousand of troops. He did not bother about the outcome but left everything to God.
