
Kargil Vijay Diwas was observed at Pratap College, Srinagar, in a vibrant event organized by the 1st J&K Battalion NCC in collaboration with the college.

The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Lt. Col M. S. Dhanoa and Dr. Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, Principal of Sri Pratap College, who were accorded a ceremonial guard of honour by NCC cadets. Both dignitaries paid floral tributes to the fallen heroes and commended the role of the NCC in nurturing discipline, leadership, and patriotism among the youth.
The event commenced with the hoisting of the national flag and the singing of the national anthem, evoking a strong sense of national pride. Cadets from the 1st J&K Battalion NCC, along with students of Sri Pratap College, showcased a series of patriotic performances, including stirring songs and dramatic skits depicting the courage and sacrifices of the Kargil war heroes.
In his address, Lt. Col M. S. Dhanoa shared inspirational battlefield stories and encouraged students to uphold the values of bravery, service, and national unity. Dr. Bashir Ahmad Sheikh highlighted the significance of commemorating such events to instill civic responsibility and respect for national heroes among the younger generation.
The programme concluded with a refreshment session for all cadets, staff, and guests—marking a fitting end to a day of patriotic remembrance and youthful enthusiasm.
