
In a bid to assess the physical and financial progress of key agricultural initiatives across the Kashmir Division, Director Agriculture Kashmir, Sartaj Ahmad Shah, today convened a high-level review meeting at the Agriculture Complex Lalmandi, Srinagar. The session focused on the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), Capital Expenditure (CAPEX), Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS), and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD)-funded projects.All Chief Agriculture Officers (CAOs) and District Development Officers (DDOs) from the division were present, ensuring a thorough district-wise evaluation.
During the meeting, a detailed PowerPoint presentation highlighted scheme-wise and component-wise expenditures, physical achievements, and progress against set targets under HADP projects, CSS, CAPEX, and NABARD. Director Shah emphasized the critical importance of expeditious and judicious utilization of allocated funds to deliver maximum benefits to the farming community. He urged officers to maintain utmost transparency and accountability in all financial transactions while accelerating project implementation to prevent any lapses.
"Strengthening agricultural infrastructure, integrating technological interventions, and ensuring seamless scheme delivery are pivotal to enhancing productivity and uplifting the socio-economic status of our farmers," said Director Shah. He directed the officers to intensify outreach efforts, actively engage with farmer communities, and promote awareness about HADP initiatives and modern farming techniques for grassroots-level success.
This divisional review aligns with ongoing district-specific assessments chaired by Director Shah, including recent meetings in Baramulla (September 30, 2025), Pulwama (October 3, 2025), and Kulgam (October 6, 2025), where similar directives on optimal fund utilization and timely project completion were issued. These efforts underscore the department's commitment to fostering resilient agriculture and sustainable farmer welfare in Jammu & Kashmir.
