
The much-awaited Inter-Division UT Level Under-19 Girls Football Championship concluded with great enthusiasm at the iconic Showkat Ali Stadium, Khawaja Bagh, Baramulla. The event was organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, under the dynamic chairmanship of Anuradha Gupta (JKAS), Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K, and the close supervision of Mohammad Rashid Kohli (JKAS), Joint Director Youth Services and Sports, Kashmir Province. The mega competition was proudly hosted by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Baramulla.
Two top teams — one each from Jammu Division and Kashmir Division — locked horns in the spirited finale. After a closely contested match, Kashmir Division emerged victorious, clinching the championship trophy of the prestigious UT Level competition.
Adding to the excitement, the standout performers of the tournament were shortlisted for the J&K team that will represent the Union Territory at the National Level this year, marking another milestone in the region’s sporting journey.
Both the winning and runner-up teams were honoured with glittering trophies in recognition of their spirited performances.
Speaking on the sidelines, Zahoor Ahmad Wani, DYSSO Baramulla, congratulated the winners and lauded both teams for their passion, sportsmanship, and dedication. He highlighted that such platforms not only nurture sporting talent but also instill confidence and discipline among young athletes.
The championship concluded on a celebratory note, with renewed hopes for J&K’s promising players to shine at the national stage.
