
The Inter-Division UT Level Under-19 Boys Football Competition continued its spirited run on the second day at Showkat Ali Stadium, Khawaja Bagh Baramulla, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports District Baramulla under the chairmanship of Anuradha Gupta (JKAS), Director General, Youth Services and Sports J&K, and the supervision of Mohammad Rashid Kohli (JKAS), Joint Director, YSS Kashmir Province. The host district is led by Zahoor Ahmad Wani, DYSSO Baramulla.
Today’s fixtures featured two high-voltage matches between teams from Kashmir Province and Jammu Province. In the morning session, the Kashmir side outplayed Jammu with a commanding 9–1 victory, while in the evening session, they reinforced their dominance with another emphatic win, defeating Jammu 6–0.
With these results, Kashmir Province has maintained a clean sweep in the competition so far, clinching victory in all four matches played over the last two days. The tournament will resume tomorrow with two more matches scheduled at the same venue.
Speaking on the sidelines, DYSSO Baramulla, Zahoor Ahmad Wani, highlighted the significance of hosting such events in Baramulla, stating that they provide a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent and promote sportsmanship. He expressed gratitude to the higher authorities for reposing trust in District Baramulla to host the prestigious tournament.
