Khunmoh residents seek basic facilities

October 30, 2026 | BK NEWS SERVICE

Srinagar, Oct 29: Residents of Khunmoh and Lal Chowk area have urged the government to address long-pending infrastructure issues, alleging that inadequate road connectivity and a lack of essential public facilities are causing hardships.

The locals have demanded road widening, round-the-clock ambulance services, improved electricity supply and uninterrupted vehicular movement to ensure better connectivity and emergency access.
They said the absence of a hospital and readily available ambulance services poses serious difficulties for patients, particularly during medical emergencies. Residents have also sought the establishment of a fire emergency unit, citing the presence of several factories and the potential risks associated with the industrial area.
The residents further called for the construction of a marriage hall and improvement of other basic amenities. They said repeated appeals to the authorities had yet to yield adequate results.
Urging the concerned departments and local MLA Ehsan Pardesi to intervene, the residents sought time-bound measures to improve infrastructure and ensure reliable public services in the area
