
Srinagar, May 21 : A literary seminar and book release function was organised by Kashmir Markaz adab wa Saqafat in colloboration with J&K Accademy of Art Culture and Languages. Dr. Gazanfar Ali’s poetry collection “Sum Nate Taar” was released on the occassion held at the Cultural Academy’s seminar hall in Srinagar, witnessing enthusiastic participation from a large audience comprising scholars, writers, and cultural enthusiasts.
Vice Chancellor Central University of Kashmir, Prof. Ravinder Nath was Chief Guest on the occassion while as Dr. Satish Vimal presided the function. In his address, he emphasized the importance of promoting the Kashmiri language, literature, and cultural heritage. He said such literary gatherings inspire intellectual growth and strengthen cultural identity. Reflecting on the event, he remarked that poetry serves as a powerful medium for expressing emotions and bringing solace to the soul.
The Vice Chancellor also urged the younger generation to actively engage in preserving and promoting Kashmiri language and culture, adding that youth must remain aware of societal realities and contribute meaningfully to cultural preservation. He also made a reference to the teachings and philosophy of Lal Ded, highlighting her relevance in contemporary times.
Among others present were SSP Traffic Srinagar Aijaz Bhat, Prof. Mohammad Zaman Azurdah, Dr. Satish Vimal, and Shahid Rasool Mass Media Communication Central University of Kashmir. Speaking on the occasion, SSP Traffic Srinagar Aijaz Bhat appreciated the role of poets and writers in shaping society, stating that literary contributions play a vital role in moral and cultural development. He also praised the rich tradition of Sufi literature and its impact on Kashmiri society.
The proceedings of the event were conducted by General Secretary Kashmir Markazi Adab wa Saqaft. Inayat Gul.
