With an aim of keeping the youth actively involved in shaping their future by providing opportunities thereby strengthening the community, Indian Army's Kupwara Terriers in inaugurated football tournament in remembrance of Martyr Hawaldar Zorawar Singh, SM (P) at Hirri Kupwara on 23 Jul 25.
The tournament will witness a participation of 180 players from 16 different teams of district Kupwara. The Inaugural match was played between Hamas football club and JFC Ganapor at Hirri ground. The match was won by Hamas football club from Panzgam by 4-1 and the Man of the match was Amir Ahmad of Hamas football club
The match was witnessed by a huge gathering of locals along with the officers from Indian Army's Kupwara Terriers. The participants from local teams thanked Indian Army’s Kupwara Terriers for their continued support in organizing such events and appreciated their commitment towards youth engagement and supporting the locals
Indian Army is committed to keep the youth of Kashmir engaged in constructive activities especially promoting sports to keep them away from negative influences and provide a platform to showcase their talents. The conduct of tournament is yet one more attempt by Indian Army to appreciate game of Soccer in valley.
