
In a proud moment for Ladakh, Iftikhar Hussain, son of Late Master Mohd Ibrahim from Minjee, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Ultimate Kho Kho League 2025 by the Kho Kho Federation of India.
To celebrate this achievement, the Ladakh Kho Kho Association organized a small but impressive felicitation ceremony, where General Secretary Syed Mehraj Uddin Shah, on behalf of President Jigmat Angchuk and all players, presented traditional khataks to Hussain.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Mehraj Uddin Shah expressed gratitude to the Kho Kho Federation of India, particularly its President Sudhanshu Mittal and Chairman (Administration & Organization) M.S. Tyagi, for ensuring a fair and transparent selection process that has paved the way for a player from Ladakh’s two-year-old team to reach the national league. He also extended thanks to the Federation for imparting International Kho Kho Course Level III-A training to Safdar Ali for coaching and technical officiating.
In his address, Iftikhar Hussain thanked the Kho Kho Federation of India for recognizing his talent and shortlisting him for the upcoming Ultimate Kho Kho League 2025.
Chief Organizer of Kho Kho Association Ladakh, Zaheer Abass Khan, appreciated the Federation’s efforts in reaching out to nurture grassroots talent even in remote areas like Minjee, Kargil.
Meanwhile, Councillor Baroo Minjee, LAHDC Kargil, Advocate Khadim Hussain, congratulated Iftikhar Hussain on his remarkable achievement and assured his full support in every possible way.
