
Muzaffarpur, Oct 10: : The Langat Singh College observed the birth anniversary of its founder, Babu Langat Singh, with solemnity, announcing a key educational initiative to ensure his legacy is understood by all stakeholders. The ceremony saw participation from various faculty members and local organizations who paid floral tributes.

In a message conveyed to the college community, Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai, Vice-Chancellor of B.R.A. Bihar University (BRABU), paid tribute to Babu Langat Singh's monumental contributions to education in Bihar.
Babu Langat Singh was a true visionary who understood that the foundation of a new, empowered India lay in quality education," the Vice-Chancellor stated. Prof. Rai highlighted Langat Singh's broader philanthropic spirit, noting his significant financial support for national ventures. "His national commitment to the cause of higher education was evident; he extended his philanthropy by making a generous contribution of one lakh Taka (Rupees) toward the establishment of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU)." The Vice-Chancellor urged the college community to continue upholding the founder’s ideals of integrity and academic rigour.
Principal Announces Lecture Series to Preserve Legacy
The day's events, including a floral tribute at the founder’s statue, were led by the college's new Principal, Prof. Kanupriya. In her address, Prof. Kanupriya passionately affirmed that "generation after generation of students are indebted to Babu Langat Singh" for his foresight and sacrifice. She stressed that the founder’s vision is a cornerstone not just for the college, but for the entire society.
To ensure this legacy is widely understood, Principal Prof. Kanupriya formally announced the launch of a Special Lecture Series on Babu Langat Singh's Life and Legacy.
"It is imperative that our students, the society, and the new generation should know about the visionary values and sacrificial contributions that built this college and supported other pillars of Indian education like BHU," she stated, emphasizing that the lecture series is designed to preserve the founder's enduring legacy. She confirmed that the first lecture in this series will be organized next week. Principal Prof. Kanupriya further pledged to maintain the highest academic standards and enhance the college's infrastructure.
