
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday extended his heartiest greetings to the people on the occasion of Holi, which will be celebrated on Friday (March 14).
In a message, the Lieutenant Governor said, “On the auspicious occasion of Holi, I extend my hearty greetings and good wishes to all. Holi, the festival of colours, is the harbinger of joy, hope and fulfilment in our lives. The celebration on this joyful occasion with traditional gaiety and enthusiasm marks the arrival of spring and all the colours reflect our rich diversity and vibrant culture.”
“May this sacred festival of colours bring joy and happiness in the society and usher in new hope for a brighter future of all,” he said.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah have greeted people on the festival of Holi.
In their Holi greetings, the duo said as the colours of the Holi, the cultural diversity of the country also presents a mosaic of hues and that the need of the hour was to celebrate the festival in the best traditions of the country's pluralistic ethos.
They prayed that the festival augurs well for the increased prospects of peace, prosperity, and communal harmony in the country and J&K, and Ladakh as well.
Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, also extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Holi.
While emphasizing that the festival of colours symbolizes love, joy and harmony, he expressed optimism that Holi would bring happiness and prosperity into the lives of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The DyCM also hoped that people will celebrate the festival with enthusiasm while fostering unity and brotherhood among all communities.
