
Social, educational, legal issues discussed
Several public representatives, institutional heads and delegations called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha here on Friday and discussed a range of social, educational and professional issues.
BJP Spokesperson Gaurav Gupta met the Lieutenant Governor and held discussions on matters of public importance.
In a separate meeting, Mohammad Iqbal Ahangar, Chairman of the OBC Welfare Association, J&K UT, and former President of the Municipal Committee Dooru–Verinag, called on the Lieutenant Governor and apprised him of issues related to the welfare of Other Backward Classes.
Chairman of Jammu Sanskriti School, Harpreet Singh, also met the Lieutenant Governor and briefed him about the school’s upcoming exhibition centred on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He was accompanied by Rohini Aima, Principal and Vice Chairperson of the school, along with Ms Meena Kumari and Ms Pooja Wazir, Coordinators.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, led by its President Advocate K. Nirmal Kotwal, also called on the Lieutenant Governor.
The delegation raised various issues concerning the legal fraternity, including matters related to the Jammu and Kashmir Tenancy Act, 2025, shifting of traffic courts, establishment of a Lawyers’ Colony in Jammu, and other welfare-related concerns.
The Lieutenant Governor gave a patient hearing to the delegations and assured appropriate consideration of the issues highlighted.
