Srinagar, Feb 1: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to experience generally cloudy weather with intermittent light rain and snowfall over the coming days, the Meteorological Department Srinagar said on Sunday.

Director MET Srinagar Mukhtar Ahmad stated that on February 1, many areas may see light rain or snow accompanied by thunder and gusty winds. Light rain or snowfall is expected at higher reaches on February 2, mostly in the evening. February 3 is forecast to remain generally cloudy with scattered to widespread snow or rain over higher areas.
Weather is expected to improve gradually from February 4 to 6, with partly cloudy conditions prevailing. February 7 may again see cloudy skies with light rain or snow at a few places, while February 8–10 is expected to remain largely dry.
Authorities have advised travellers and transporters to confirm road conditions and follow official advisories. Farmers are urged to suspend field operations for the next week, and residents in snow-prone areas are cautioned against venturing into avalanche-risk zones.
