
Weatherman predicts more rains till June 2
The light to moderate rainfall lashed Jammu & Kashmir parts late on Monday afternoon, even as the weatherman predicted more rainfall till June 2.
The rains brought down temperatures across the Kashmir Valley.
Normal life came to a standstill following the fresh rainfall in Srinagar and other districts of Jammu & Kashmir.
Director Meteorological Department (MeT), Sonum Lotus said that there is a possibility of intermittent light to moderate rain and thunderstorms towards late afternoon, evening at many places today.
He further said there is no forecast of major rainfall till June 2, but added that as per the forecast, the intermittent light to moderate rain, thunder, lightning with possibility of hailstorm and gusty winds at scattered places can be expected till that date.
Lotus further said the weather would remain mainly dry from June 3 to June 6.
He advised farmers to postpone operations like spraying and harvesting of crops till June 2.
Pertinently, parts of Kashmir witnessed frequent rainfall, especially in the late afternoon, last week, causing dip in temperatures at most places.
