Lt Gen Pendharka reviews Manipur security

Imphal, Feb 16: Lieutenant General Abhijit S. Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the III Corps (Spear Corps), reviewed the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness across sensitive areas of Manipur during his visit to Ukhrul, Kangpokpi and Imphal.

During the visit, the Corps Commander assessed ground-level security arrangements, coordination among security agencies and the overall readiness of troops deployed in the region. He interacted with formation commanders and field units, taking stock of operational deployments and measures in place to maintain peace and stability.
At the Leimakhong Military Station, Lt Gen Pendharkar was briefed on the current security dynamics and ongoing efforts aimed at ensuring normalcy. He commended officers and soldiers for maintaining high morale, professionalism and steadfast commitment despite challenging operational conditions.
The GOC emphasized sustained vigilance, enhanced synergy with civil administration and other security forces, and continued community outreach initiatives to foster trust and stability. He reiterated the Army’s commitment to safeguarding the region and supporting efforts to restore lasting peace.
The visit underscores the Indian Army’s continued focus on operational preparedness and proactive engagement to ensure security across Manipur.
