Imphal, Manipur, Dec 1: Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding (GOC) Spear Corps, visited forward locations along the Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur on November 30, 2025, to assess security preparedness and operational readiness in the region.
During the visit, Lt Gen Pendharkar conducted a comprehensive review of ongoing security measures and interacted with commanders stationed at key forward posts. The officers briefed him on current operational activities, intelligence inputs, and coordination efforts with civil authorities to ensure the safety and stability of the border areas.
The GOC lauded the Assam Rifles personnel for their professionalism, dedication, and consistent efforts in maintaining peace in a strategically sensitive area. He emphasized the importance of vigilance, timely intelligence sharing, and seamless coordination to effectively counter any threats to national security.
Lt Gen Pendharkar also discussed welfare measures, infrastructure development, and logistic support for troops stationed in challenging terrains. He encouraged the personnel to remain committed to their duties while taking care of their well-being, highlighting that the morale of troops is key to operational effectiveness.
