Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha on Sunday greeted the people on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, which is being celebrated on Monday.
In a message, the Lt Governor said, “On the joyous and auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Jayanti, I convey my heartiest greetings to all.
“Guru Nanak Devji's profound message of equality, brotherhood, truthfulness, compassion and the importance of leading a virtuous life continues to guide and inspire humanity. Let us, on this day, resolve to follow his noble teachings and rededicate ourselves to the cause of humanity,” he said.
The Director General of Police R R Swain also greeted families of martyrs, serving Police personnel, Security forces, their families and people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.
In a message, the DGP said Guru Nanak Devji’s message of equality, universal brotherhood, oneness and compassion for all, continues to guide and inspire humanity.
He said that the values underlying the teachings of the great Guru should guide our endeavours to preserve the unity and secular outlook of our country.
