MA Sports Club wins opening tie in Kabaddi Gold Cup

Srinagar, Mar 16: MA Sports Club registered a convincing victory in the opening match of the Under-23 Boys Kabaddi Gold Cup, organized by the Arun Sharma Sports & Social Welfare Trust in collaboration with the J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association, Kreeda Bharati J&K and J&K Sports Council at the Kabaddi Arena of MA Stadium, Jammu.
In the inaugural contest, MA Sports Club defeated Shield Sports Club by 47-38, securing a comfortable nine-point win in an exciting & competitive match that was witnessed by several distinguished guests & sports enthusiasts.
Earlier, the championship was formally declared open by Secretary J&K Sports Council, Ms. Nuzhat Gull, who interacted with the participating teams, members of the organizing committee & visiting dignitaries.
The tournament is being organized in connection with the birth anniversary of Arun Sharma, former Sports Officer & renowned Handball coach of Jammu & Kashmir. The event will conclude tomorrow with the final match followed by the valedictory ceremony.
Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were Shiv Kumar Sharma, President Kreeda Bharati J&K; Aman Sharma, Incharge SAI STC Jammu; Dr Kuldeep Gupta, General Secretary JKAKA; Dr Vinod Bakshi, Director Sports Cluster University of Jammu; Ashutosh Sharma, Trustee of the organizing trust; Akshay Khajuria, DySP J&K Police & international handball player, besides other officials & sports personalities.
