Srinagar, Oct 12: Mamta Yadav, IAS, on Monday assumed charge as Director Information and Public Relations in Jammu and Kashmir.

After taking charge, Yadav interacted with officers and officials of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) and discussed the department’s functioning and responsibilities.

She highlighted the department’s role in maintaining effective communication between the government and the public. She stressed the importance of transparency, accuracy and timely dissemination of information regarding government policies, developmental projects and public welfare schemes.

Yadav also called for greater use of digital platforms and modern communication tools to expand the department’s outreach and improve public engagement. She emphasized the need to adopt transparent, timely and people-focused communication strategies in response to the changing media landscape.

The interaction was attended by Joint Director Information (Headquarters) Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Deputy Director Information (PR&AV) Javid Ahmad Rather and other senior officers and officials.

Later, Yadav inspected various sections of the department and reviewed their functioning.
