Srinagar, April 28: A violent altercation between two groups in the Bemina area of Srinagar turned fatal after a man was killed during the scuffle, officials said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at Khumani Chowk, where an initial dispute between two groups escalated after relatives of both sides joined in, leading to a physical confrontation.
An official said that during the clash, one individual sustained serious injuries. He was immediately shifted to JVC Bemina for treatment, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The deceased has been identified as Syed Adil, son of Syed Manzoor, a resident of Khumani Chowk Bemina.
Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) in connection with the incident and have initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the fatal clash.
