
Pallel, Kakching, Mar 19: The Assam Rifles, under Spear Corps, in collaboration with REACHA and supported by the IIFL Foundation, successfully concluded the third batch of the Skill Development Programme “Right Skill, Bright Future” on 18 March 2026 at Pallel, Kakching.
The initiative aimed to empower local youth by equipping them with practical skills in the hospitality sector, enhancing their employability and fostering sustainable livelihoods. Over the course of the program, 146 participants underwent rigorous training in areas such as customer service, housekeeping, food and beverage management, and other hospitality operations.
Following the completion of the training, 91 youth secured placements in reputed hospitality establishments across the region, marking a significant milestone in bridging skill gaps and providing meaningful employment opportunities. The program emphasized hands-on experience, industry-relevant knowledge, and soft skills to prepare participants for professional success.
Officials highlighted that such skill development initiatives not only promote economic empowerment but also strengthen civil-military engagement, encouraging collaboration between local communities and defense forces to foster social development. The Assam Rifles expressed its commitment to continuing programs that uplift youth, create sustainable career opportunities, and contribute to regional growth.
