In a heartfelt tribute to Martyr Rameez Ahmad Baba, Police in Ganderbal today inaugurated a T20 Cricket Tournament at the iconic Sheikh-ul-Aalam Stadium, Kangan.

A total of 16 teams from across Sub-Division Kangan will be participating in the tournament, reflecting the spirit of unity, sportsmanship, and community engagement. The tournament was formally inaugurated by SDPO Kangan Shri Rajeev Raina–JKPS, alongside the family members of Martyr Rameez Ahmad Baba, whose presence added emotional significance to the event.
The opening match of the tournament was contested between Preng and Margund, marking an enthusiastic start to the competition. Senior police officers, sports lovers, and respected citizens of the area were also present on the occasion.
Police reiterated its commitment to fostering youth talent, promoting positive recreational activities, and honouring the supreme sacrifices of martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation.
