Srinagar, Jan 24: A massive fire broke out on Saturday morning at a Guest House on Boulevard Road in Srinagar, causing extensive damage to property.

Officials said teams of the Fire and Emergency Services from Nehru Park, headquarters, and Babdem were rushed to the spot and firefighting operations were launched to control the blaze.
Initial reports indicate that the guest house was completely gutted in the fire, while two adjacent structures suffered partial damage. Firefighters worked to prevent the flames from spreading further in the congested area.
According to officials, two to three structures were affected in the incident. The exact cause of the fire was not immediately known. There was no official confirmation of any loss of life or injuries till the filing of this report.
Authorities said a detailed assessment of damage would be carried out after the fire is fully brought under control.
