The Meteorological department Kashmir on Saturday predicted intermittent rain and thundershowers across Jammu and Kashmir over the coming days but ruled out any major weather disturbance until September 12.
As per the forecast, a few places may witness a brief spell of rain or thunder on September 6.
“On September 7 and 8, light to moderate rain is likely at several places, with a chance of moderate showers or thunder in some districts of Jammu division during late night or early morning hours,” a MeT official said.
He said from September 9 to 12, only isolated spells of rain or thundershowers are expected.
The department said no significant weather activity is likely during this period.
However, it cautioned about possible landslides and shooting stones at vulnerable locations, advising people to avoid water bodies, river embankments, nallahs, and unstable structures.
In its advisory to farmers, the MeT centre said agricultural activities may be resumed from today, while paddy harvesting can begin from September 9 onwards.
