MeT predicts week long wet spell from today

The Meteorological department Kashmir on Sunday forecast intermittent rains and snow in parts of Jammu and Kashmir till March 16.
A MeT official said there is a possibility of light rains and snow at scattered places of J&K from tonight.
He said there is a possibility of light to moderate rains and snow over many higher reaches of J&K on March 10.
The official said from March 11 to 16, there is a possibility of intermittent light to moderate rains and snow at many places in Jammu and Kashmir.
The MeT has advised travelers, tourists and transporters to follow weather advisories being issued from administration and traffic department, and avoid sloppy and avalanche prone areas.
The farmers have also been advised to suspend farm operation from March 10 to 16.
The night temperature recorded 1 to 2°C below the average at many weather stations of the Valley during the past 24 hours.
Srinagar recorded a low of 2.2°C recorded during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. This was 1.1°C below the average for the place during this period of the season.
The tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir was the coldest place with a low of -2.7°C, ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir at -2.4°C, and Kupwara -0.4°C, the MeT official said.
