The Meteorological department Kashmir has predicted light to moderate rain and snow over Jammu and Kashmir during next 3 days.
A MeT official said the weather will turn cloudy with light to moderate rain or snow (over higher reaches) at many places, with thunder, lightning, or hail storms at isolated places on Friday and Saturday in Jammu and Kashmir.
“On April 28–29, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain or snow (light snow over higher reaches) at most places, with thunder, lightning, hailstorms, and gusty winds at a few places, with the possibility of heavy rain over isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
The weather will remain generally cloudy with light rain and thunder at scattered places on April 30, while it will remain dry from May 1 to 4, the MeT office said.
The MeT office has issued an advisory for the farmers to conduct farm operations until today.
It has also been predicted that there are chances of temporary disruption of traffic over the higher reaches of Zojila, Sinthan Pass, Mughal Road, Razdan Pass, and other higher reaches on April 28.
The low-lying areas of the Valley may also witness water logging, which can increase the level in the Jhelum streams and Nallas during the period, the MeT warned.
The night temperature rose but still remained below normal in Kashmir Valley during the intervening nights of Wednesday and Thursday.
