The Meteorological department has predicted isolated to widespread light to moderate rain and snow over Jammu and Kashmir during the next 48 hours.
“There is a possibility of light to moderate rain/snow at most places, while a few higher reaches of North and Central Kashmir may receive moderate to heavy snowfall on March 3," a MeT official said.
He said the weather will generally remain dry from March 4 to March 9.
“Another spell of rain and snow is possible from March 10 to 12,” the MeT official said
The MeT has issued an advisory urging tourists/travellers/transporters to follow admin/traffic advisories during the period.
Farmers have been advised to suspend irrigation and other farm operations till March 4.
There is also the possibility of landslides/rockfall/shooting stones at vulnerable places, the MeT office said, urging people to avoid sloppy slopes and avalanche-prone areas and follow DGRE's avalanche warning/bulletin.
