Health and Education Minister Sakeena Itoo laid the foundation stone for the Government Degree College (GDC) Mattan and a new building for the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Mattan, aiming to expand access to quality education and healthcare in the region.

The Minister highlighted that the college will feature modern classrooms, laboratories, and a library, with science and other streams planned for the next academic session. She also announced a student bus service to facilitate access. The PHC will be equipped with advanced diagnostic and medical facilities to ensure timely healthcare in the area.
During her visit, Minister Itoo inaugurated a new Physiotherapy Unit at Sub-District Hospital Seer, strengthening rehabilitative care with modern equipment and trained staff. She interacted with medical staff and locals, assuring continued support to improve health services and address manpower gaps.
MLAs Reyaz Ahmad Khan and Abdul Majid Bhat Larmi, along with senior officials, attended the event, while locals expressed gratitude for the government’s initiatives to enhance education and healthcare infrastructure in Mattan.
