Min Rana reviews development projects in Doda

Jammu, Mar 5: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana on Thursday chaired a high-level virtual meeting to review the overall developmental progress in Doda district, with focus on speeding up key infrastructure works, strengthening irrigation facilities, improving road connectivity and ensuring effective utilisation of funds.

MLA Doda Shakti Raj Parihar, MLA Bhaderwah Daleep Singh Parihar, District Development Commissioner Doda Krishan Lal and other district officers attended the meeting.
During the review, the Minister directed officials to ensure timely completion of all ongoing projects while maintaining strict quality standards. He stressed the importance of outcome-based monitoring and called for greater attention to sectors where progress has been slow.
The District Development Commissioner informed that under the District Capex plan, 2,432 works have been taken up across departments, out of which 1,625 have been completed, achieving around 71 percent expenditure. Under the Rural Development Department, 2,272 works were initiated during 2025-26, with 1,656 completed so far.
Department-wise progress revealed that under the Jal Shakti Department, 52 works were taken up, with 36 completed. The Public Works Department undertook 245 works, out of which 99 have been completed. Similarly, 52 works were taken up by the Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited, with 18 completed to date.
Reviewing the progress under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the Minister was informed that 212 schemes are underway in the district, with 122 already completed. Emphasizing the goal of achieving Har Ghar Jal certification, he directed officials to expedite pending works to ensure assured tap water supply to every household.
The meeting also reviewed major infrastructure projects including the Government Medical College and Associated Hospital at Doda, being constructed at a cost of ₹164.9 crore, which has achieved 75 percent physical progress. The multistorey car parking project in Doda town has also reached 75 percent completion.
Progress under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana was also assessed, with 179 schemes aimed at providing road connectivity to 258 habitations in the district. Under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, 3,122 applications have been received, out of which 822 rooftop solar systems have already been installed.
Other projects reviewed included the construction of a shopping complex, development of the Chenab riverfront and widening of National Highway-244. The Minister directed officials to conduct weekly review meetings to ensure close monitoring and timely completion of these projects.
The MLAs also raised various issues related to their constituencies during the meeting. Assuring prompt action, the Minister said all genuine concerns would be examined and necessary directions would be issued to the concerned departments for their resolution.
