
Pampore, Sep 17: Minister for School Education, Higher Education, Health and Medical Education, and Social Welfare Sakeena Itoo on Thursday inaugurated the newly constructed District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Complex at Pampore in Pulwama district.
The facility is aimed at strengthening teacher training, professional development and academic support for educators across the district.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Pampore MLA Hasnain Masoodi, Commissioner Secretary School Education Department Ram Niwas Sharma, senior officers and other dignitaries.
Officials said the complex will serve as a centre for teacher education, capacity building, innovative teaching practices, curriculum support and continuous professional development programmes.
Speaking on the occasion, Itoo stressed the need to equip teachers with modern skills, knowledge and resources, saying a strong and well-equipped teaching community is essential for preparing a progressive and future-ready generation.
She said the government was focused on upgrading educational infrastructure and investing in human capital to improve teaching standards and ensure quality education for students across Jammu and Kashmir.
