Mizoram celebrates Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary

Lunglei, Mizoram, Nov 23: The Assam Rifles commemorated the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as the Iron Man of India, with a grand celebration marked by the opening ceremony of a Unity March at Government High School, Chanmari, in Lunglei district. The event drew participation from students, local residents, and Assam Rifles personnel, reflecting a vibrant display of patriotism, discipline, and national pride.

The Unity March, aimed at promoting national integration, unity, and patriotism, commenced with the ceremonial flag-off, signaling the start of a day-long series of commemorative activities. During his address, senior Assam Rifles officers highlighted Sardar Patel’s unparalleled role in the political unification of India, emphasizing his vision, determination, and unwavering commitment to the nation.
Speakers at the event urged the younger generation to imbibe the values exemplified by Patel—discipline, dedication, and selfless service—and to emulate his spirit of perseverance in contributing to nation-building.
