New Delhi, Nov 26: A group of students from Lunglei, Mizoram, visited Rashtrapati Bhavan and had the rare opportunity to meet President Droupadi Murmu during their National Integration Tour. The interaction provided the students with firsthand insights into the functioning of India’s highest constitutional office and the role of the President in upholding the values of democracy, unity, and national integrity.

During the visit, President Murmu encouraged the students to embrace education, discipline, and social responsibility, emphasizing the importance of youth in nation-building. She interacted with the students, answered their questions, and inspired them to pursue excellence while respecting India’s cultural diversity.
The students were also given a guided tour of Rashtrapati Bhavan, exploring its architectural grandeur, historical significance, and the offices where crucial decisions for the country are made. Teachers accompanying the students highlighted that such experiences broaden young minds, deepen their understanding of governance, and instil a sense of pride and responsibility as citizens.
The National Integration Tour aims to expose students from remote and northeastern regions like Mizoram to India’s rich cultural, political, and historical heritage, fostering national unity and inspiring future leadership among the youth. The students described the visit as “memorable and motivating,” carrying back valuable lessons on patriotism, governance, and civic duty.
