Srinagar, Jan 23:Srinagar, Jan 23: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, VK Birdi on Thursday said that multiple official events will be organised across Srinagar to mark Republic Day on January 26, with elaborate security arrangements already in place.

Addressing mediapersons during an interaction, the IGP said that one main Republic Day function will be held at Bakshi Stadium, while parallel events are also scheduled at Balidan Stambh Pratap Park. He said the celebrations will witness participation from local residents, Army personnel, police forces, school students and other institutions.
IGP Birdi stated that the administration has put in place multi-layered security arrangements to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of all Republic Day events. He added that security agencies are working in close coordination and necessary preventive measures have already been taken.
The IGP further said that public participation has been encouraged and all arrangements are being finalised to allow people to celebrate the national occasion in a safe and orderly manner.
