Kohima, Sep 2: Recognising the invaluable service, sacrifices and contribution of the Armed Forces, the 24th Annual Meeting of the Rajya Sainik Board and State Managing Committee of the Special Fund for Relief & Rehabilitation of Ex-Servicemen was held at Lok Bhavan, Kohima.

The meeting was presided over by Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav and attended by the Inspector General, IGAR (North), along with senior officials from the Armed Forces and civil administration.
The deliberations focused on strengthening welfare mechanisms for ex-servicemen and their dependants, with particular emphasis on relief, rehabilitation and measures aimed at improving their overall well-being.
The meeting provided an important platform for representatives of the Armed Forces and civil administration to review welfare-related initiatives and deliberate on ways to make assistance more effective and accessible to veterans and their families.
The Rajya Sainik Board plays an important role in coordinating welfare measures for ex-servicemen, war widows, dependants and other members of the veterans’ community. The Special Fund for Relief & Rehabilitation is aimed at extending support to those requiring assistance after their years of service to the nation.
The participation of senior Armed Forces and civil administration officials underscored the importance of coordinated efforts in addressing the concerns of the ex-servicemen community. The discussions also reaffirmed the need for continued institutional support to ensure that veterans and their dependants receive timely assistance and appropriate rehabilitation opportunities.
