
The Range Police Headquarters Srinagar in collaboration with the Department of Students, Welfare University of Kashmir organized a Speech Competition on the topic “Breaking the chains of Addiction: Empowering Youth and Communities for a Nasha Mukh Bharat” under the aegis of ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ at Gandhi Bhawan, University of Kashmir.
At about 200 students of different colleges and other departments of the university attended the event and 30 participants have delivered speech on the said topic. The best five speakers were awarded with cash reward.
The debate witnessed the presence of distinguished guests including VC Kashmir University Neloofar Khan, as the Chief Guest, DIG CKR Srinagar Rajiv Pandey IPS as guest of Honour. Other dignities who graced the event include Professor Parvaiz Ahmed Dean Students welfare KU, Dr Shahid Ali Khan Cultural Officer student welfare KU, SSP Srinagar Imtiyaz Hussain JKPS, Shri Liyaqat Ali JKPS SSP SO to DIG CKR, Shri Hilal Khaliq JKPS SP Hazratbal, Mohammad Shafi Khan DySP ADO CKR Srinagar.
The VC of Kashmir University in her remarkable speech emphasized the importance of event in fostering police public relationships and channelizing the positive energy of youth. DIG CKR Rajiv Pandey-IPS presented the vote of thanks and ensured the faculty of Kashmir university that J&K Police will work tirelessly and provide helping hand in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and make efforts to educate youth in order to disseminate the message among general masses.
This initiative under the Civic Action programme demonstrates the continued commitment of J&K Police towards community engagement and youth development through such debates/speech competitions
