
Army pays tributes to officer killed during anti-terror operation in Rajouri
Jammu, June 7: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday laid a wreath and paid homage to Lieutenant Beereshwar Goswami, who made the supreme sacrifice while undertaking search operation during anti-terror operation in difficult terrain and adverse weather conditions in Rajouri district.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor has said, "Laid a wreath and paid homage to our Army Braveheart Lieutenant Beereshwar Goswami."
"The nation will forever remain indebted to his supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. We stand firmly with the family of the martyr in this difficult hour'', he said.
Meanwhile, General-Officer-Commanding (GOC) White Knight Corps Lieutenant General P K Mishra also expressed grief on the demise of an officer, who accidentally slipped to his death during operational duties in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The White Knight Corps, in a post on X, said, "GOC White Knight Corps and all ranks express profound grief on the untimely demise of Lieutenant Beereshwar Goswami, who made the supreme sacrifice while undertaking operational duties in an area marked by rugged terrain, steep cliffs and adverse weather conditions."
His unwavering devotion to duty, indomitable spirit and selfless service to the nation will remain an enduring inspiration to all ranks, it posted.
The post further read that the White Knight Corps stands in solidarity with the bereaved family in this hour of grief and prays for eternal peace to the departed soul.
The army officer died after he slipped into a gorge during an anti-terror operation on Saturday evening.
He was part of the security forces engaged in Operation Sheruwali, which has entered its 16th day.
