Dinjan, Oct 17: A formation under Spear Corps conducted a 10-day Military Hospital Attachment for National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets at Dinjan, Assam, providing them practical exposure to military medical services and emergency response.
The programme aimed to foster a spirit of service among youth while familiarising cadets with the Army’s medical support system and its role in managing medical emergencies.
During the attachment, cadets received hands-on training in triage, casualty management and first aid under expert supervision. The sessions helped them understand the importance of rapid assessment, timely intervention and coordinated response during emergencies.
The cadets also actively participated in the validation of the raising of 100 Crisis Expansion beds, gaining valuable insight into the preparedness and capacity-building measures required to handle increased patient loads during contingencies.
The attachment offered participants an opportunity to observe military medical personnel at work and understand the planning, discipline and teamwork involved in delivering medical support under challenging circumstances.
The initiative also sought to build confidence, develop practical skills and encourage a sense of responsibility among the cadets. Exposure to emergency-care procedures is expected to strengthen their awareness of basic medical response and the importance of assisting others in times of need.
Through such training initiatives, Spear Corps continues to engage with young people, promote service-oriented values and inspire them to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
