NHM Employees Extend Strike by 72 Hours Across J&K from September 18

September 17, 2026 | BK NEWS SERVICE

Srinagar, Sep 17: The Jammu and Kashmir National Health Mission Employees Association (JKNHMEA) on Thursday announced that its ongoing peaceful protest and strike across the Union Territory will be extended by another 72 hours from September 18, 2026.

In a communication addressed to the Mission Director, National Health Mission, J&K, the association said the extension was necessitated by the continued pendency of its long-standing demands and the absence of a concrete, time-bound resolution from the authorities.

The association reiterated that the protest would remain peaceful, democratic and constitutional, adding that participating employees would maintain discipline and uphold public order.

It said it remained committed to dialogue and constructive engagement and hoped the government would take meaningful and time-bound steps to address the grievances of NHM employees.

The communication was issued in reference to the association’s earlier letters dated September 6 and September 11, 2026.
