Srinagar, Aug 15: Army's Northern Command Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma on Saturday urged troops deployed in the Kashmir Valley to remain mission-ready, maintain the operational tempo and continue sharpening their skills while reviewing the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness in the hinterland.

Lt Gen Sharma conducted a comprehensive review of the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness in the hinterland areas of the Kashmir Valley.
According to the Army, the review focused on the existing security environment and the preparedness of troops deployed across the Valley.
The Army Commander also celebrated the 80th Independence Day with soldiers serving in challenging operational conditions and conveyed his greetings to all ranks.
During his interaction with the troops, Lt Gen Sharma exhorted them to sustain the operational tempo, sharpen their skills and remain mission-ready, Army's Northern Command said.
On Friday, the Northern Commander chaired a comprehensive security review and coordination meeting at Srinagar, with key stakeholders. He was briefed by all Joint Control Centres on the prevailing security situation, operational preparedness and the evolving security dynamics.
