‘Those who joined hands with BJP responsible for prevailing situation in J&K’
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday hit out at PDP saying that those who allied with the BJP are responsible for the prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Those who are accusing me for clicking a picture with the Union Minister once sat in the lap of the BJP and talked about milk and toffees, misled the youth by distributing cricket bats and forced them to the Home Minister's program,” Omar told reporters in the Legislative Assembly.
The CM, who did not attend the House proceedings for three days, interacted with the media after the Assembly was adjourned sine die by the Speaker.
“They remained silent during the critical times when they were in alliance with the BJP and are now raising fingers at me for clicking pictures with the Union Minister,” said Omar.
“Had taken my father (Dr Farooq Abdullah) to the Tulip garden, and the Union Minister (Kiren Rijiju) happened to be present and meeting with him was a coincidence,” he said adding that he (Kiren Rijiju) asked for a photograph and what he was supposed to do, refuse or misbehave?.
“Those using the picture to target me is unjustified, especially by the people who helped BJP to enter into the politics of Jammu and Kashmir politics. These are the same people who have never apologised to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for the 2016 killings,” the CM said.
Omar said that many things happened in the Assembly in his absence. “The elected representatives have to raise the voice of the people in the House and if they will not do then who else will?”
