Pulwama, Aug 18: A Power Development Department employee died after suffering an electric shock while carrying out repair work on an electric line at Chatergam in Budgam district on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Amin, a resident of Khanda, Pulwama.

Local sources said Amin was reportedly repairing an electric line when he suffered the electric shock. He sustained critical injuries and later succumbed to them.

The incident has highlighted the risks faced by power department employees while carrying out repair and maintenance work.

The latest incident has also raised concerns over safety measures and power isolation procedures during repair work on electrical lines. Further details are awaited.
