Sopore, April 4: Continuing its sustained drive against the drug menace, Police in Sopore have apprehended a drug peddler during patrolling under the jurisdiction of Police Post Bus Stand and recovered psychotropic substances from his possession.

During night patrolling near General Bus Stand, Sopore, a suspicious individual was apprehended. During search, SpasmoProxyvon Plus capsules and Alprazolam tablets were recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Ashiq Hussain Shalla son of Ghulam Rasool Shalla resident of Hyder Colony Sopore.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 70/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation is underway to ascertain the source and wider linkages involved.
