
In a decisive strike against drug trafficking, Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Pulwama and Kulgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In Pulwama, acting on reliable input, a police team along with concerned Magistrate raided and searched the residential house of Gulzar Ahmed Gatoo son of Mohd Abdullah Gatoo, resident of Batpora Naina, and recovered 16.8 Kgs of charas powder-like substance. The accused has been arrested on the spot and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
In Kulgam, acting on specific input, a police team from PS Qazigund at a checkpoint established at Bonigam crossing, intercepted a suspicious person. During search, 4.8 grams of Heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Waseem Ahmad Reshi son of Ghulam Rasool Reshi resident of Berigam. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remain in custody.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and further investigation is in progress.
Police reiterates its firm zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and assures the public that strict action will be taken against all individuals involved in this menace which poses a grave threat to society.
