Police in Shopian have arrested two drug peddlers in separate operations and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police party of Police Post Keegam at a checkpoint established at Marhenz Chowk, arrested a drug peddler identified as Zubair Ahmad Dar resident of Sunsamil Pulwama. During search, 500 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession.
In a separate incident at Zainapora Nagard Axis, a police party intercepted a drug peddler identified as Suhail Ahmad Dar resident of Wadina Zainapora. During search, 480 grams of charas-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
J&K Police reiterates its firm resolve to maintain a drug-free society and appeals to the general public to support this noble mission. Citizens are urged to report any information related to drug abuse or peddling to the nearest police establishment.
