
Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, J&K Police in Ganderbal busted a drug racket by arresting 02 notorious drug peddlers and recovered narcotic substances.
In a swift and well-coordinated operation, on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS, a police team from Police Station Ganderbal led by SHO PS Ganderbal at a checkpoint established at Tengpora Dhobipora intercepted and apprehended 02 persons. They have been identified as Aqib Rashid Bhat, son of Abdul Rashid Bhat, and Tasaduq Majeed Bhat, son of Abdul Majeed Bhat, both residents of Guzerbal, Ganderbal. Upon thorough search, police party recovered one bag from Aqib Rashid Bhat containing 1024 grams of bhangpatri (ganja-like substance) and 58 grams of charas-like substance. Moreover, another bag weighing 780 grams of bhangpatri (ganja-like substance) was recovered from Tasaduq Majeed Bhat.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 201/2025 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal, and further investigation is underway.
General public is requested to come forward with any information regarding Drug peddling/anti-social activity in their vicinity and extend their cooperation to Police in eradicating the drug menace from the society as drugs are consuming the precious lives and career of our young generation.
