As part of its sustained efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, J&K Police have arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A police party of Police Station Kunzer at a checkpoint established at Manglora Crossing intercepted a suspicious person identified as Irfan Rashid Zargar son of Ab Rashid resident of Chewa Budgam. During his personal search, charas-like substance weighing approximately 26.5 grams concealed in a polythene bag was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and a case vide FIR No. 115/2025 under sections 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kunzer, and investigation has been taken up.
J&K Police reiterates its commitment in maintaining a drug-free society and appeals the general public to cooperate in the war against drugs. Citizens are requested to share any information regarding drug abuse or peddling to the nearest police station.
