Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Awantipora arrested one drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

During naka checking at Babapora Khrew, a Police Party headed by SHO PS Khrew intercepted one person in suspicious condition, who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully. During search, 01 gram of Heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession. The arrested drug peddler has been identified as Rayees Ahmad Hajam son of Gh Mohd Hajam resident of Sharshali Khrew.
Accordingly, a Case vide FIR No. 67/2025 under relevant sections of las has been registered at Police Station Khrew and investigation has been taken up.
