Police in Shopian booked a notorious drug peddler under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT NDPS) after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
The notorious drug peddler namely Fayaz Ahmad Lone, son of Ab Rasheed Lone, resident of Melhura Zainapora Shopian has been booked under the PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, subsequently lodged in District Jail Udhampur.
The aforementioned drug peddler is a habitual offender, involved in Case FIR No. 09/2023 of Police Station Behigam Kulgam & 62/2023 of Police Station Zainapora. Despite having been bound down under preventive measures repeatedly, Fayaz Ahmad persisted with his involvement in illegal drug trafficking, posing a grave threat to the society, especially, the youth.
Known for his notoriety as a chronic miscreant and drug peddler, the accused person has been actively engaged in illegal drug trafficking and creating public nuisances. He is a key figure in the narcotics trade, procuring drugs from various sources and selling them at higher prices, primarily targeting the youth of Zainapora.
