Police in Awantipora have presented a challan in case FIR No. 86/2025, registered under Sections 2/3 of the EIMCO Act, before the Court against 40 accused persons who were allegedly involved in anti-national activities, officials said on Sunday.
According to police, the accused had allegedly crossed the border into Pakistan for illegal arms training and did not return thereafter.
Following a sustained investigation, the case was found fit for judicial proceedings.
The investigation was conducted by the Station House Officer of Police Station Awantipora under the supervision of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer Awantipora.
Police said all required legal formalities were completed before submitting the challan to the court.
Police officials said upon completion of all legal formalities, the challan has been submitted for judicial proceedings.
They said the filing of the challan marks a significant step in the legal process and reflects the commitment of law enforcement agencies to act against individuals allegedly involved in activities threatening public order and national security.
“J&K Police remain committed to taking firm and lawful action against offenders and ensuring strict adherence to the rule of law,” the police official said.
