Police inaugurates cricket tournament In Pulwama

As part of its efforts to promote sports and engage youth in positive activities, police in Pulwama inaugurated a Cricket Tournament at Green Park Lelhara under the Civic Action Programme 2024-25.
The tournament was formally inaugurated by SSP Pulwama Ms P.D Nitya-IPS in the presence of Addl. SP Pulwama, DySP DAR, SDPO Kakapora, SDPO Litter, SHO PS Kakapora, and RI DPL Pulwama.
In her inaugural address, SSP Pulwama commended all the teams for their participation and emphasized the importance of sports in improving both the physical and mental well-being while steering youth away from drugs and other negative influences.
A total of eight teams are participating in the tournament, providing local youth an opportunity to showcase their cricketing talent. The inaugural match was played between Blue Caps Lelhar and Rajpora Royals.
Police remain committed to fostering youth engagement through sports and other community-driven initiatives, strengthening the bond between law enforcement and the public while encouraging healthy and competitive activities. The local people of Pulwama and nearby areas lauded the efforts of Police for their outreach programme which would empower the youth.
